(OTC:ITWO) and Chainalytics to the Logistics and Intermodal Transportation program in the College of Business Administration. The multi-million dollar software donation comes after an exhaustive search for a technology partner that included discussions with industry experts and extensive literature reviews. The faculty in the Logistics and Intermodal Transportation (LIT) program identified i2 Supply Chain Strategist as a leading planning tool that it believes will help fulfill the strategic vision of the program.
The gift of the i2 software is complemented by Chainalytics' contribution of services to support installation, training and curriculum development. 'This is a prime example of how partnerships between a corporation and a university work to the benefit of both,' Georgia Southern President Bruce Grube said. 'Our partnerships with i2 and Chainalytics will take our students to the leading edge of logistical strategies and solutions for moving goods through the supply chain to the right markets at the lowest cost.
'In turn, our graduates will take their knowledge of this planning tool into the workplace as they pursue their careers.' Chainalytics President Mike Kilgore was instrumental in bringing together Georgia Southern and i2 and making this donation a reality.

I2's Supply Chain Strategist is a scenario-based strategic planning tool that supports key strategic decisions at each stage of the supply chain, from raw materials procurement through finished goods distribution. The LIT major at Georgia Southern resides in the Department of Management, Marketing and Logistics. Entering its second decade, the undergraduate program consists of over 100 majors. Students have started their careers with leading transportation providers and shippers from across the United States. The LIT program is planning to use the software and training in a majority of the required courses for logistics majors. In 1985, Armstrong sold the Canadian business and, along with Frederick M. Pakis, formed the US-based JDA Software, Inc.
After signing a contract with a Phoenix-based automotive retailer in 1987, all eight JDA employees relocated to the new headquarters in. After 10 years of operation as a privately held firm, JDA became a public on March 15, 1996, re-purchased the original Canadian 'JDA' company, and re-established presence in Canada. In 1998, JDA completed their first major acquisition, the Arthur Retail division, a vendor of planning and allocation software. In April 2000, the company announced the acquisition of Intactix division, a provider space management software for retailers, suppliers and manufacturers with more than 3,000 customers.
In September 2001, JDA acquired E3 Corporation, adding 500 customers in retail and wholesale-distribution in 20 countries.
